Dear Friends & History Lovers,

Mary Priestley and Jack Baggenstoss have just published, Dad’s Railroad- The Mountain Goat.

This book is about the legendary train that ran from Cowan - Sewanee – Monteagle - Tracy City - Coalmont – Gruetli - Laager and on to Palmer from where it hauled untold tons of coal back down the mountain.

The exciting stories by Mary Priestley are based on true events, and the beautiful color illustrations by artist Jack Baggenstoss reach out and grab you for a trip down memory lane.

I highly recommend this book to anyone with Grundy County or Sewanee and Cowan ties.  It’s reasonably priced where anyone can afford it, and I’m sure that when you get your copy you’ll want one for other family members and friends.  It’s that good.

Yes, you can almost hear the conductor cry, “All aboard!” as the Mountain Goat is brought to life once more through this book.

Most Sincerely,
David Patton
