From Mary Jane Walter:

Eliza Millicent Sullivan (Guinn) and her slave friend, Easter (born on Easter) were walking around their Paint Rock Valley plantation in 1861 and stumbled on a wounded Yankee soldier.  They brought him back and hid him in an out building to keep him from being turned in as a prisoner.  They nursed him back to health and after several days he disappeared and left a silver thimble, diamond ring and a gold broach to thank them for their kindness.  When Millicent died in 1932 she left the gold broach to her granddaughter, Myrtle Hinton Henley.  The broach is still in the Henley family.
