I received my book, and I am reading it with deep interest. Learned a good bit about several branches of my family that I really didn't know. Well I knew of these folk but not really what ever became of them.
You and your committee can really hold your head of high as this is a wonderful book. Please share my compliment with your organization. It without a doubt took a lot of hard dedicated work and will be a wonderful addition to your counties history for years to come.
Indeed I will in the future send a belated story of my family as it came from my Grandmother, Dorothy Viola Parsons Gaines 1911-1987. Grandma was a beautiful person and boy do I still miss her after all of these years.
Again thanks and I hope to meet you in person someday to give you a "personal" thanks. God Bless, Randall K. Wilson Morristown IN
ps One amusing thing about the book I found is this. Some of the folk would give a personal account of a person and his family and there would be several family members giving an account about the same person. Hence, each would have a different slant or version of this persons history. This would leave one to wonder if the submitters even knew each of other or not. I find that facinating.

WOW WOW WOW WOW WOW
There are not enough word--let alone good adjectives--to describe my emotions right now. I have just received my history book, delivered to my door. I have turned every page--but not read of course--and I don't know where to start talking. First, I want to thank you, Janelle, and all the others who have given so much of your time to this project. You are to be congratulated over and over again. Words are not sufficient to express my thoughts. I understand perhaps more than some how much time you have given. This sort of book does not come easily. Since I cannot say enough, I will just say "You did fine." The part that stands out most and I think is so wonderful is the picture of John Anderson. I guess I was not expecting to see him. I suppose there is not a person in Grundy County and beyond who does not remember him with love and good thoughts!
This email is getting too long. Perhaps, I can write better later when I have had time to read the entire book. I just had to write you immediately.
Love to all and Thanks again.

My niece Rachel, in GA, is gushing over the book, and so is her husband. Rachel had to lay it down. her eyes were hurting. Their daughter Tanya is now into hers too.
We must have done a good thing.

David, my sister Doris brought me a copy of the Heritage of Grundy County. What a wonderful book! I have only spent a couple of hours reading it so far since receiving it. I notice many articles about Palmer notables were submitted by you. Good job.

David,
I have just about put my eyes out reading the Grundy County Heritage Book. It's so wonderful to have. The book brings back to memory things we had forgotten long ago.
